What moves the price?
The accessible insulation area, material, depth, removal method, contamination conditions, and route in and out of the home can all affect a proposal. Attic floor area is not necessarily the same as the home’s advertised floor area. Crawlspace clearance can matter as much as its footprint.
Ask whether the quoted amount includes disposal, cleanup, preparation, replacement, and any taxes or fees. A unit price may come with a minimum job charge. Specialist work is a separate scope; this worksheet is not intended for suspected asbestos or hazardous-material work.
Compare the same job
Write down removal-only and replacement separately. Ask each provider to identify exclusions, inaccessible areas, and the conditions that trigger a change order. If one quote includes air sealing and another does not, their bottom lines are not directly comparable.
Enter rates from a quote below. No numbers are prefilled, and calculations stay in your browser. You can also print the estimate checklist for an inspection.
Your numbers, made clearer
Build a scope subtotal.
Enter an area and the unit rates from a written quote. Use zero for any line that does not apply. Empty fields are not silently counted as zero.
A few common questions.
Can you give me a price per square foot?
Not reliably without a verified local quote and project scope. Use a provider’s written rate in the worksheet instead of treating a generic internet figure as a local offer.
Will I be charged to submit a project request?
The site does not collect a homeowner request fee. Any inspection fee, project price, or agreement must be confirmed directly with the provider.
Is the worksheet a contractor quote?
No. It simply totals the numbers you enter. It does not account for unlisted fees or replace an inspection.
